At St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Primary School every class in Year 2 through to Year 6 have two school council representatives. The head boy and girl and deputy head boy and girl are also members of the school council. The school council is over-seen and supported by Mrs McLernon-Evans but led by the children themselves. The School Council members will regularly meet to discuss the views and ideas of pupils at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Primary School. These discussions are then fed back to the rest of school through the classroom discussions and assemblies.
The school council have worked extremely hard during the Autumn term producing a new Child Friendly Anti-bullying Policy and we are working together to help give ideas to the re-structuring of our outdoor play area.
During the Spring term the school council wished to discuss the contents of the packed school lunch provided by the catering company. They produced and conducted a questionnaire about packed lunches provided by the kitchen. The findings were reported back to member of staff from Dolce. The choice of lunches have improved greatly this term.
